I haven't posted in 5 years. A lot has happened since then. I went back to school, and I get my Bachelor's degree in May of 2013. I do a lot of public speaking about domestic violence. One thing I've learned is that I am definitely not alone and abuse happens more than I knew. I just want you to know, if you are out there reading this, you are not alone. If you want me to restart posting on this blog, I will. Feedback, anyone?

I am an abuse survivor. With the start of the new year, I decided to continue along the path of healing which started about a year ago. I grew up with a physically abusive father and a emotionally (and sometimes physically) abusive mother. Only recently have I moved out from being under their control. I just found this blog, and I hope to read it. You're words about not being along caught my attention. Right now, I feel so alone. Especially during the holidays when my few friends are away with their families. Have a happy new year.
